How a flawed study, regulatory cowardice & groupthink denied an entire generation of women access to life-saving treatment — and why this reversal gives us hope that truth might be making a comeback.
This is a great example of how understanding of things needs to evolve over time. The minute someone says "the science is settled" is the minute science actually stops happening. Real experts understand this. Great article, Tiffany !!!
Wow Tiffany! So cool that you got to be there! Thanks for your summary, I was aware of some great upset with HRT but didn’t really understand - you really laid it all out so clearly!! And ugh, I’m so frustrated at the system but also so happy that they came out and “set the record straight” (but when will everyone change their thinking? Who knows).
Oh I'm so glad that it was dejargoned enough to make sense! We're all frustrated with the state of health and healthcare, but I'm cautiously optimistic about what I'm seeing. I've followed Makary and Bhattacharya for years now. They are genuinely good people with ethics and drive. Let's hope they can make lasting changes in regulation and most importantly in public minds!

But Devin! Science is ONE AND DONE! In all seriousness, I of course agree with you. Humility should be a cornerstone of society.
