Interesting perspective. I appreciated how you brought in context to Prasad in this piece, rather than saying he was leaving and that was the end of the story.

Thanks so much for reading Dylan. Just like with everything in life, the incentives and perspectives are layered. I think there’s a lot to learn from his time at FDA. I just hope we take the times to learn the lessons.

Sad state of affairs (though not new, I had hope for change of direction ..).

Money is the ultimate influence, and apparently that hadn't changed entirely... Yet.... Fingers still crossed

Seeing reality for what it is is incredibly hard for me still so I can certainly appreciate your frustrations here. The best part about seeing a reality that we don’t love is that it opens up opportunities for change. I hope that’s what we see happen here.

Prasad was the scapegoat. When Marty got his wrist slapped by the President 2 weeks ago for the Moderna flu vaccine reversal, that signaled the end for Prasad. Marty saved him once, wasn't going to happen again. The more concernig issue is this constant mistake regulatory agencies make when they appoint physicians who either are part of academia or surgeons or hospitalists and they turn them into paper pushing regulators. They're imprisoned in red tape, politics and they lose sight of who they are supposed to help. Marty, Jay and Vinod are poster boys for turning brilliance into destruction

But who better to know what should be done than the people who have seen the effects of poor regulation and policy up close and personal. If not Marty, Jay and Vinay, than who? The alternative seems to be allowing industry to run unchecked - not that they aren't running wild anyway, but we have to try to do the right thing, don't we?

The problem is, these guys are not politically savvy, they are tools of the administration and they are much more comfortable with medicine than politics.
